I have installed message centre using Wineskin as described above. The only problem I have in running the Message Centre in Wineskin on my mac is that the application reports the trueCall card is read only. Otherwise it works perfectly - just can't delete messages from the card.

    Any suggestions would be welcome.

    Maybe your SD-Card is write-protected?
In which position is the protection switch of your card?

    • What Mac do you use?
    • What version of OSX do you have?
    • How do you read the SD-Card?
With a card adaptor or directly via the built-in card reader slot of your MacBook Pro?

    The card is unlocked

    I have a Mac Pro 6-core running OSX 10.8.4.

I have a Sandisk Imagemate all-in-one card reader.

GetInfo says I have read and write permissions

Using a *different* card I can use Notepad in Wineskin (as per their example) to read and write a file to the new card

I can't try on the trueCall card as is says the disk is full - though can write a file entry with 0 bytes.

    Thanks..

    Hmm, strange.
    Try the following:
    1. Enter the units system and select option 6 (system information)
Listen to "call recording time remaining on memory card". How many minutes do you get?

    2. Try an other simple USB 2 card reader. They are often the problem.

BTW, can you copy recordings to your Mac?

    I have 107 hrs remaining.

I can save the recording to the mac ok.

I haven't got a spare USB hub at the moment but I have just gone through the same process on my Mac Air using the built in card reader. It has the same problem.!

Don't know if this helps:eek:n the mac air i've used winskin 2.5.9 and tried both WS(Wine1.6-rc1x) and WS9Wine1.5.27

WS9Wine1.5.29, 1.5.27 & 1.3.37 on the mac pro with same Winskin

    Thanks

It seems that there is a software issue.

    Two possibilities:
Either is your OSX 10.8.4 version is too new for Wineskin,
read this problem with 10.8.2 (wineskin.urgesoftware.com/tiki-view_blog_post.php?postId=61)
or you have a problem with your Wineskin version.

I have on OSX 10.8.3, Wineskin Winery v. 1.7 with WS9Wine 1.5.29 Engine and Wineskin-2.5.9 Wrapper. It works perfectly with my built-in card reader of my MacBook Pro and with an USB card reader from SanDisk.

Because you can't downgrade your OSX version, try the following:
    - Uninstall your actual Wineskin Winery including the Engine. And I mean uninstall, not just delete the app. I hope you have something like CleanApp. Otherwise send me a private message and I will send you all paths.
I don't want to create a long post with all these paths.
    - Download and install the Wineskin Winery v. 1.7 from here:
    http://wineskin.urgesoftware.com/tiki-index.php?page=Downloads
    - Install the latest Engine version
    - Create a new Wrapper and allow connections
    - Install the trueCall Message Centre
    - Throw away your old trueCall Wrapper

But to be honest, I suspect your OSX is too new. In that case you will have to wait until Wineskin have upgraded their engine.

P.S. What OSX has your MacBook Air?

Ok, I have found the problem. Its a corrupted memory card. I've bought a new card and everything works as expected.

I suspected the card after trying it in a PC again: the PC just wanted to format the card, even though it still worked in the trueCall unit and was readable on the Mac.

    Thanks for your help HAL9000

Fine, so I can upgrade to OSX 10.8.4. :)

BTW. Never try to copy the content of a trueCall Recorder SD Card, to then format it and then paste back the previous files to it!
The trueCall unit won't recognize the card. It has some kind of copy protection.
If your card is corrupted, try this first:

I have just purchased a trueCall Extra unit and a recorder SD card. I have a new 2014 imac with Mavericks and tried to install the recorder program on a couple of emulators. I couldn't fathom out Wineskin (how complicated!). After looking through some reviews on emulators I opted to pay £2.99 for WinOnX from the Apple App Store. It made the whole process so easy and I now have everything working fine. I have listened to my recordings.

Well worth the money if you can't manage the other emulators.

You are right. WinOnX is the easiest emulator. I modified the Tips & Tricks & Codes thread.
