Data Recovery

OK - I made the usual silly mistake when in a hurry and, having mounted the card in the reader and fired up trueCall Message Centre, looked at the files on the card. The first was not needed and having selected the file made the inevitable mistake and hit the delete button. Delete all - wrong button!

The file type appears to be highly unusual, an '.ing' suffix file.

Does anyone know how to recover files from the card having made that mistake. The card has been quarantined and therefore nothing else has been written on it.

trueCall support say they know of no way of recovering the data.

You could try one (or more) of the data recovery utilities that typically promote themselves for recovering photos from memory cards, but it rather depends on the delete process. If the deletion is a simple releasing of the storage area in the allocation tables you have a chance (particularly if it is FAT) of just restoring the file name. If the file is itself a database that file system recovery utilities can't possibly know about, and the deletion has reorganised that, you're stuck.
